The Ciaran Bingham Foundation Trust Glamorous Black Tie Ball took place at The Marriot Hotel for the second year running to raise awareness for the charity. This years Charity Ball was sponsored by Sterling Services.
The night was a fantastic chance for all of the guests to enjoy a VIP red carpet arrival, a fizz reception, a 3 course meal with wine, live entertainment and lots more surprises along the way!
During the night guests were entertained by a number of acts, including Chris Quammie, Paul Stone and Steven Lindsay. Lin Hussin who is Miss Yorkshire opened the evening in style. Lin has recently been nominated for Miss Great Britain and we also had the pleasure of Major S. M. Hardy, (Rtd) TD DL, from The West Yorkshire Lieutenancy. It was a night to remember from beginning to end!
In combination with the ticket sales, their was also an auction and a raffle that took place on the night which saw prizes such as a holiday for 8 people in a villa in Spain, and meals from restaurants and bars from all over the city won. The night was a huge success, raising almost £12,000 for the charity and it’s service users.
The charity has been founded by Ciaran's mother, Margaret Bingham and Andrea Edwards and is supported by a committed number of volunteers and sponsors in the local community.
Tragically, Margaret's son, Ciaran was involved in a Road Traffic Accident in January 2010, which ended his short life a few days after his 19th birthday. Ciaran was a highly sociable person who loved life and loved helping those around him, young and old and we want to help others in Ciaran's memory.
Ciaran Bingham Foundation Trust needs volunteers of all ages to help run its many activities. Volunteers are vital to keep its activities going and there are plenty of ways in which you could help them out at the Ciaran Bingham Foundation Trust. What's more they will provide you with any training that will help you carry out your duties. Whatever time you can commit you'd be part of a friendly, welcoming team, you'll have fun, feel healthier and have something amazing to put on your CV.
They also welcome students on work placement and companies looking for team building challenges in the community.
